Lars Christensen was recently offered for sale by the NSSR and thanks go to Willy Verwoerd and Jon Ballovarre for sending us links to the sale pages. Stein wrote to update us saying the NSSR was lucky to achieve around the asking price for this vessel (approx 3.5 million NOK - 456,386 euros - £318,046 gbp). The money will be invested in the fleet of modern rescue boats enabling NSSR to save more lives at sea off Norway's convoluted coastline.

Lars Christensen
(RS 83) was built in 1972 and was stationed at Vardø (Finnmark). Stein
Storlien from the NSSR told us that latterly Lars Christensen worked for NSSR from a station in
Senjahopen, in the vicinity of Tromsø. 
Lars
Christensen was delivered to her new owners on 15 October 2007. The
company - Danish Maritime Service AS - will use the vessel for their
business of private piloting out of Frederica in Denmark. Stein also sent
this photo of the vessel taken in 2006.
