Svein-Rune Børslid from Mathopen (near Bergen) in Norway contacted us in December 2004 to let us know he had bought the boat in 1996 from a company in Flekkefjord and has being using her as training vessel for the Homeguard. Svein tells us that G Unger Vetlesen was a gift from G Unger Vetlesen Foundation and was named after Commander Georg Unger Vetlesen who worked for Eisenhower during the Second World War. Svein sold the boat to Mr Reidar Berge in June 2007 who now uses her for a diverse range of maritime missions, both for the oil/offshore industry, tourism and for private charters. The boat works both Kristiansund and Bergen, west coast of Norway, and you can read more at www.rbshipping.no where you will see the above banner image (adapted for this site with kind permission of Reidar Berge). (RS 76) was built in 1968 and stationed at Sætervik/Sør-Gjeslingan (Nord-Trøndelag).
