Fredrikstad was offered for sale for a while but has since been donated to the Massachusetts Maritime Academy. Captain Andy and chef Gill handed her over in October 2008 and they believe "Freddie" will be used as a training vessel.

Fredrikstad
(RS 77) was built in 1968 and was stationed at Andenes (Nordland).
She was bought by America's Cup yachtsman Peter de Savary and was subject to
an intensive and expensive rebuild in a huge project that kept Penzance Dry Dock
and Engineering Co Ltd busy for 16 months. The asking price of the
completed vessel was $3,500,000. The vessel was sold to an American owner
and in August 2004 was spotted in the Morris Basin, Jersey City at the
Liberty Landing Marina. In the summer of 2005 Fredrikstad was seen much
closer to home as she cruised up Loch Linnhe heading for the west entrance
of the Caledonian Canal.
