Svein-Rune Børslid from Mathopen (near Bergen) in Norway contacted us in December 2004 to let us know he had bought the boat in 1996 from a company in Flekkefjord and has being using her as training vessel for the Homeguard. Svein tells us that G Unger Vetlesen was a gift from G Unger Vetlesen Foundation and was named after Commander Georg Unger Vetlesen who worked for Eisenhower during the Second World War. Svein sold the boat to Mr Reidar Berge in June 2007 who now used her for a diverse range of maritime missions, both for the oil/offshore industry, tourism and for private charters.
In 2011, G Unter Veltsen was sold again to Captain Stig B Nilsen. Veltsen is now based in Bodo in northern Norway, Stig who is the master of cruise ship Azamara Quest very kindly sent us some recent pictures of Veltsen. Stig has also just sold HMS Gaasten to our old friend and occasional ex crew member Sven Stewart. Sven now resident in Norway will be running Gaasten for a variety of scandinavian charters http://pointsnorthcharters.com/
