We are delighted that this Award recognises our hard-working crew and their commitment to ensuring all our guests have the best possible experience onboard whilst minimising the impact we all have on the environment in which we work. Northern Light Charters were also successful in both the 2001 and 2002 Highlands & Island Business Awards which are considered the "Oscars" of the area's industry and commerce. 2001 saw Northern Light Charters awarded "Best Effort to Enhance Visitors' Experience". Peter Mearns wrote, "I offer my congratulations on your success. Lord Sanderson and the members of the judging panel were very impressed with what you have achieved and the quality of the product that you provide."
In 2002 Hannah, accompanied by Big John, was presented with the Awards' first ever "Tourism Award" by the Rt Hon Sir Eddie George, Governor of the Bank of England prior to a celebratory luncheon at the Eden Court Theatre in Inverness. Of particular interest to the judging panel was the way in which we dealt with Foot & Mouth last year and how our actions meant all but one of our pre-booked guests (who withdrew voluntarily) were able to enjoy the holiday which they had anticipated. |
