Not long now until the start of our cruising season! We look forward to welcoming back many repeat guests aboard, and also seeing some new faces. Your crew for 2015 will also be a mix of familiar faces, and a some new ones.
Your skipper for 2015 will be Mark Henrys or Tim Wear, both will be familiar faces to our returning guests as they have many years experience skippering Hjalmar Bjorge and other boats in the waters of the West Coast.
Anna and Mark were married in March, congratulations. Tim has been working in Norway, skippering a ski/adventure cruise boat.
Returning for another season of cooking up tasty delights in Hjalmar’s galley are Molly, Steve and Miriam, and we also have a new cook, Lynda for some of our later cruises.
Molly has been busy over winter, learning about tapas in Spain, visiting New Zealand and more recently working in Norway alongside Tim, and is looking forward to returning to Scotland.
Steve spent some time in Greece where he has his own boat and also has been cooking for a fitness bootcamp!
Miriam has also been to Norway! (A pattern emerges here for NLC crew) but not related to crewing – instead she was cross-country skiing. She has also been sailing in Chesapeake Bay, and working for MARA seaweed.
Lynda joins us as cook aboard later in the season. A keen sailor for over 40 years, with her own Corribee yacht, Lynda has cooked afloat overseas and ashore on various estates. She’s actively involved in the RNLI and the Tall Ships Youth Trust.
Working as mate aboard Hjalmar Bjorge this season will be Mark’s wife Anna, Molly’s partner Craig, Michelle escaping from the office, and a new face Eszter, who is Hungarian and has been living in the West Coast of Scotland for the last year. Eszter is a keen diver, sailor and caver.
We all look forward to helping you to have an enjoyable and unforgettable holiday!

A small bothy on Stac Lee was formerly used by St Kilda fowlers. It is big enough to accommodate two people and is dry inside.
