Zuza at The Shiant Islands

Synopsis: a varied cruise combining sailing and power aiming for an interesting mix of Inner and Outer Hebridean islands with time at the Shiants, weather permitting. Enjoy "the wind in your hair" plus daily walks, large numbers of birds and likelihood of cetaceans. This cruise does not visit St Kilda.

Outer Hebridean Explorer (The Shiants) cruising areaDestination: guests join motor yacht Zuza at around 1530 on Saturday 26 May at Oban Yachts, Kerrera. Our departure shortly thereafter will see us on anchor for our first evening meal aboard.

The itinerary is dependent on weather - balancing shelter with some exciting sailing - but may include, for example, some of the following destinations: Mull, the Small Isles (Rum, Canna, Eigg and Muck), Skye, Coll and Tiree in the Inner Hebrides. In the Outer Hebrides possibilities include Eriskay, Barra Head, Mingulay, Vatersay, Taransay, Scarp and the Monach Islands, etc. We will aim to land on The Shiants and explore these wonderful islands with their large seabird colonies and interesting archaeological remains. Expect sea and golden eagles, cetaceans (such as dolphins, minke whales and basking sharks) and lots of seabirds such as gannets, puffins, guillemots, terns, skuas and razorbills. This cruise will not visit St Kilda.

On the final day we will return to Oban having brunch there before your departure on Monday 4 June.
