The lovely, low lying Monach Islands

Synopsis: an early season cruise combining sailing and power aiming for remote and beautiful islands. Visit a wide range of destinations and enjoy sailing with "the wind in your hair," daily walks and wildlife. Encounter birds and perhaps early cetaceans (see list below).

Destination: guests join Zuza at Corpach Sea Lock around 1500 for a lock out on the tide. Following a cruise/ sail down beautiful Loch Linnhe the first night may be spent in Ardtornish Bay or Loch Sunart.

The itinerary is dependent on weather - balancing shelter with some exciting sailing - but may include, for example, some of the following destinations: Mull, the Small Isles (Rum, Canna, Eigg and Muck), Skye, Coll and Tiree in the Inner Hebrides. In the Outer Hebrides possibilities include the Shiants, Eriskay, Barra Head, Mingulay, Vatersay, Taransay, Scarp and the Monach Islands, etc. If weather permits we'll aim for St Kilda but this is by no means definite. Expect sea and golden eagles, perhaps some early cetaceans and seabirds such as gannets and puffins.

On the final day we will lock in at Corpach around 1230 (exact time is tide dependent) for your departure after lunch on Sunday 25 May.

Sightings and findings from previous similar cruises: Arctic skua, bluebells, bottle-nosed dolphins, common dolphins, corncrake, fossils, gannets, golden eagles, great skua, guillemots, kittiwakes, Leach's petrels, long-tailed skua, Manx shearwaters, minke whales, orchids, otters, peregrine falcon, pomarine skua, porpoise, puffins, red-throated divers, sea eagles, short-eared owl, Soay sheep, St Kilda mouse, St Kilda wren, storm petrels, unusual evening rainbow, white-beaked dolphins

Please Note: The journey described above is typical of this cruise but is not guaranteed. Sightings and findings are examples from previous similar cruises; the list is neither exhaustive nor guaranteed.
